Chocolate Buttercream Frosting

Very decadent, very chocolatey and definitely for the sweet tooth in all of us…

This is the ultimate chocolate topping:

3/4 cup dairy-free spread ( I use pure sunflower spread)
2 2/3 cups powdered sugar (be careful, some contain egg!)
6 tbs unsweetened cocoa powder (I use green and black organic)
2 tsp vanilla extract

Put the spread into a bowl, sieve the sugar and the cocoa on top, add the vanilla extract. to combine, use a fork (or your hands). When combined, mix with a food processor until smooth and fluffy. Pipe or spread on top of cupcakes, refrigerate. If you feel the creme is too hard, add a few teaspoons of water.

  1. This looks really relish. I’m sure I should know this, but what exactly is sunflower spread? Is that referring to something like sunbutter, the peanut butter substitute, or is it something completely different? I will need to try this out. Thanks for sharing!

    • Thanks for your comment. I use Margarine made out of sunflower Oil in The recipe… . The One from “pure” (UK Brand) does Not contain any Soya so I can use it… . I have Not found any Margarine in The US without Soya… Unfortunately. Let me know how The recipe Turned Out!
